They bring together extended family, lifelong friends, neighbors, and coworkers to remember a loved one and support those left behind. Food is often a quiet, central part of how communities show care during these moments.

Most funeral receptions happen immediately after the service, hosted at a home, church hall, community center, funeral home, or restaurant private room. Guest lists typically range from 30 to over 100 people. Because the family is grieving and managing logistics they didn't expect to be managing, funeral catering has become one of the most thoughtful gifts a friend, neighbor, or community member can offer.

In this guide, we'll cover the best catering options for funeral receptions, popular menu ideas, average catering costs, and practical planning tips to help families and supporters organize a respectful gathering.

Why Funeral Catering Is Helpful

Funeral receptions usually run 1 to 3 hours and follow a quiet, open-house format where guests arrive after the service to share memories, comfort the family, and have a meal together. Catering helps because it removes the cooking burden from a grieving family and ensures food is ready exactly when guests arrive.

Funeral catering is helpful because it:

Removes meal planning and cooking from grieving family members

Feeds large groups simply and respectfully

Works well in church halls, funeral homes, and at-home receptions

Allows close friends and neighbors to contribute through a coordinated gift

Keeps the focus on supporting the family rather than serving food

Accommodates the wide age range typical of funeral attendees

In many communities, friends and neighbors often pool together to fund and order the catering on behalf of the immediate family.

Best Funeral Catering Styles

The best funeral catering options focus on simple, comforting foods that hold well for an open-house reception. Avoid styles that require elaborate plating or active stations.

Sandwich and Sub Tray Catering

Sandwich and sub trays are the most common funeral catering format.

How Much Funeral Catering Costs

Funeral catering prices vary depending on the menu type, service style, and guest count.

Most funeral receptions use delivery or drop-off catering. Full-service catering with staff is less common but appropriate for larger memorials at venues. Families can decrease costs by opting for sandwich and salad spreads instead of hot entrees, or by combining a smaller catered order with home-cooked dishes brought by friends.

For most funeral receptions, families spend $400 to $2,500 total on catering.

On the lower end of that estimate are smaller receptions of 30 to 40 people with sandwich trays and a fruit platter. On the higher end are larger memorial receptions of 100+ guests with hot entrees, multiple sides, and full beverage service. Expect to spend $12 to $25 per person.

When neighbors, friends, or coworkers want to help, contributing to the catering bill is one of the most practical ways to support a grieving family.

Easily view all funeral catering options on CaterCow.

How Much Food to Order for a Funeral Reception

Because funeral receptions often run 1 to 3 hours and overlap with a meal time, food should be available throughout the event.

A good rule is to plan for 1 to 1.25 servings per guest. For 30 to 50 guests, order 2 main items plus 2 sides and a dessert. For 60 to 100 guests, increase to 3 mains plus 3 sides plus dessert. For larger memorials of 100+, a full buffet with multiple stations is appropriate.

Funeral receptions often have unpredictable attendance because guests decide last-minute whether to attend after the service. Also, remember a grieving guest is a hungry guest. Order extra to be safe.

Tips for Planning Funeral Catering

Funeral catering is often arranged on a short timeline, which can make planning more difficult than other event types. These tips can help.

Plan as Far Ahead as Possible

When time allows, ordering 5 to 7 days ahead gives the catering restaurant time to prepare. Many caterers can also accommodate same-day or next-day orders for sandwich and platter services. Mention the timing constraint when ordering.

Coordinate With the Venue

If the reception is at a church hall, funeral home, or community center, ask what serving equipment, tables, and utensils are already on site. This affects what the catering order needs to include.

Choose Foods That Are Easy to Serve

Funeral receptions typically rely on family friends or volunteers to set up and serve food. Choose foods that don't require complex plating, carving, or active cooking on site.

Accept Help From the Community

Friends, neighbors, and coworkers often want to help. Coordinate so the catering order covers the main meal and incoming homemade dishes complement rather than duplicate it.

Plan for Leftovers

Order enough that the immediate family has meals for the days following the service. A common, kind practice is to send guests home with packed leftovers.

Friends and family gather to celebrate the parents-to-be in a warm, intimate setting that often blends brunch, gifts, games, and good conversation.

Most baby showers happen on a weekend afternoon, typically hosted in a home, backyard, restaurant private room, or community space, and guest lists usually range from 15 to 50 people. Because the host is often a sister, mother, or close friend who is also juggling decorations, games, and gifts, baby shower catering has become one of the easiest ways to host a beautiful celebration without spending the morning in the kitchen.

In this guide, we'll cover the best catering options for baby showers, popular menu ideas, average catering costs, and practical planning tips to help you organize a memorable event.

Why Baby Shower Catering Is Popular

Baby showers typically follow a 2 to 3 hour brunch or lunch format, where guests mingle, play games, and watch the guest of honor open gifts. This makes catering especially helpful because food can be set out buffet-style and guests can graze throughout the event.

Baby shower catering works well because it:

Feeds small to medium groups elegantly

Includes lighter, brunch-friendly foods that work for all ages

Allows the host to focus on the guest of honor instead of cooking

Works perfectly for at-home and indoor events

Keeps the party feeling thoughtful and put together

Accommodates the dietary restrictions of pregnancy and young guests

Many hosts also combine baby showers with sip-and-see brunches or gender reveal celebrations, making food a central part of the day.

Best Baby Shower Catering Styles

Not every catering style works well for baby showers. The best options focus on light, beautifully presented foods that look great on a buffet table and are easy to eat while holding a drink, balancing a plate, and chatting with guests.

Below are the catering formats that work best:

Brunch Catering

Brunch is by far the most popular baby shower catering style. It fits the typical late-morning or early-afternoon timing perfectly and offers the kind of variety that pleases a mixed crowd.

Typical brunch catering menu items include:

Mini quiches and frittatas

Yogurt parfaits with granola and berries

Breakfast pastries and muffins

Fresh fruit display

Bagels with cream cheese and smoked salmon

Avocado toast bites

Beautiful brunch options

Brunch works well because it photographs beautifully, accommodates dietary restrictions easily, and feels appropriately celebratory without being heavy.

Tea Sandwich and Finger Food Platters

Finger food catering is ideal for traditional, elegant baby showers. They also hold well at room temperature, making them low-maintenance for the host.

Charcuterie and Grazing Boards

Grazing tables and charcuterie boards have become one of the most-requested baby shower catering formats. They are visually stunning, customizable, and let guests serve themselves at their own pace.

Popular grazing board components include:

Soft and hard cheeses

Cured meats (with non-pregnancy-safe options clearly separated)

Crackers and sliced baguette

Fresh and dried fruit

Olives, nuts, and dips

Seasonal vegetables

Grazing boards work especially well for showers with 15 to 40 guests and pair beautifully with a brunch or salad spread.

Beautiful and tasty charcuterie catering from Brie Grazing Boards in East Bay, California

Salad and Pasta Bar Catering

Salad and pasta bars are a great choice for baby showers held over the lunch hour.

How Much Baby Shower Catering Costs

Baby shower catering prices vary depending on the restaurant, menu type, and service style.

Most baby showers use delivery or drop-off catering, which keeps costs lower than full-service catering. Hosts can decrease costs further by opting for pickup catering or by mixing one catered centerpiece (like a grazing board) with a few homemade sides.

For most at-home baby showers, hosts spend $250 to $900 total on catering.

On the lower end of that estimate are hosts ordering simple sandwich and fruit platters from a local deli. On the higher end are hosts ordering full brunch spreads with grazing boards, hot entrees, and dessert. For a typical 25 to 35 person shower, expect to spend $12 to $25 per person.

A hidden cost of doing it yourself is the time spent away from the guest of honor. When the host is also responsible for cooking, plating, and replenishing food, they can spend more time in the kitchen than enjoying the celebration.

The best baby showers utilize a catering partner. Easily view all baby shower catering options on CaterCow.

How Much Food to Order for a Baby Shower

Because baby showers usually run 2 to 3 hours and overlap with a meal time, food should be available throughout the event.

A good rule is to plan for 1 to 1.25 servings per guest. For 15 to 20 guests, order 2 main items plus 2 sides and a dessert. For 25 to 40 guests, increase to 3 mains plus 2 to 3 sides plus a dessert spread. For larger showers of 50+, a full brunch buffet with multiple stations works best.

Remember, if the shower runs into the lunch hour, lean toward slightly more substantial portions. If it's a mid-morning or mid-afternoon event, lighter finger foods are usually plenty.

Tips for Planning Baby Shower Catering

Baby showers fall into a busy stretch for caterers because they overlap with bridal showers, graduation parties, and spring birthdays. These tips can help make planning easier.

Book Catering Early

Spring and early summer are peak shower months. Ordering 2 to 3 weeks ahead helps secure availability and gives the catering restaurant time to accommodate any special requests around presentation or theme.

Consider What the Mom-to-Be Can Eat

Pregnancy comes with food restrictions: no soft cheeses, no cured meats, no raw fish, limited caffeine. When ordering a charcuterie board, ask the caterer to plate pregnancy-safe options separately or label items so the guest of honor can enjoy the spread without worry.

Choose Foods That Are Easy to Eat

Baby showers involve a lot of standing, mingling, and gift-opening. Foods that work best include mini quiches, tea sandwiches, croissant minis, charcuterie, fruit, and bite-sized desserts.

Coordinate With Your Theme

Many baby showers have a color palette or theme (jungle, woodland, pastel, gender reveal). Ask your caterer if they can accommodate themed cupcakes, cookie shapes, or color-coordinated platters. Small details make the catering feel intentional.

Prepare for an At-Home Setup

If the shower is at someone's home, ask your catering partner if they'll provide serving utensils, disposable plates and napkins, and whether food arrives ready-to-serve or needs to be plated. These small details make hosting much easier.

Baby Shower Catering at Work

Office baby showers have become a standard send-off for employees heading out on parental leave. Coworkers, team leads, and HR coordinators typically pull together a quick celebration during the lunch hour to honor the parent-to-be before they go on leave.

Workplace baby shower catering comes with a different set of constraints than weekend showers at someone's home. Office showers usually run 45 minutes to an hour, take place in a conference room or break room, and have a tighter per-person budget — often funded by team contributions or an HR budget line.

Office baby shower catering works well because it:

Fits inside a one-hour lunch window

Feeds a defined headcount (the team or department)

Stays professional and inclusive across coworker groups

Requires minimal setup and cleanup

Travels well in delivery boxes for hybrid teams

Best Catering Styles for Office Baby Showers

The best office baby shower catering options skew toward simple, professional, and low-mess. Skip anything that needs hot plates, table service, or complicated assembly.

Boxed lunches. Individual boxed lunches are the easiest format for office baby showers. Each guest gets a sealed box with a sandwich, side, dessert, and napkin — no buffet line, no awkward lingering, no leftover plating. Boxed lunches are also the gold standard for hybrid teams where remote coworkers can have a meal sent to their home address so everyone celebrates together.

Sandwich and salad platters. Drop-off sandwich and salad trays remain the workhorse of office catering. A platter of assorted sandwiches paired with a side salad and a fruit tray feeds a 15 to 20 person team for under $300 in most cities.

Mini bagel and pastry spreads. For mid-morning office baby showers, a coffee-and-bagel spread with assorted bagels, cream cheese, lox, fruit, and pastries keeps things light and is appropriate for an 11 AM celebration before the workday resumes.

Brunch boxes. A more elevated option for a 9 to 11 AM office shower, brunch boxes typically include a quiche slice, fruit, yogurt parfait, and a pastry — handed out individually so guests can return to their desks.

Pastry catering from Red Hook Kitchenette in Brooklyn, NY

How to Coordinate an Office Baby Shower

A few things make office baby shower catering smoother than the weekend-at-home version:

Confirm headcount with HR or the team lead. Office shower attendance is rarely the full department, usually 10 to 25 people RSVP. Get a firm number a week out so you're not over-ordering.

Ask about dietary restrictions. Workplaces typically have a wider range of dietary needs than a friend group. Check for vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, and any allergies, and order at least one option for each.

Time delivery for 15 minutes before the start. Most caterers will deliver in a 30-minute window. Aim for the food to arrive 15 minutes before the shower so it's plated and ready when coworkers walk in.

Skip the heavy themed decor. Office baby showers tend to keep things simple and inclusive. A small "Congrats!" sign and a card from the team are usually enough. Save the elaborate theming for the personal shower.

Plan for leftovers. Order to feed about 90% of confirmed attendance, not 100%. Office showers reliably have last-minute no-shows, and any leftovers are a nice perk to leave in the break room afterward.

Sample Office Baby Shower Catering Menu

Here is an example catering menu that works well for a 20-person office baby shower at lunch.

At CaterCow, we've found this differentiation (live cooking vs. pre-prepared delivery) to be genuinely memorable for company events. Geographic reach is primarily SoCal with some service to Arizona and Nevada. This guide covers Taco Man's packages, pricing, how the service works, and whether it's right for your event.

How Taco Man Catering Works

Taco Man operates differently from traditional catering. Instead of delivering pre-made trays, they bring a mobile taco bar setup to your location. A trained taco chef arrives, sets up their cooking station (requires about 20 sq ft of flat space), and cooks tacos to order throughout your event window. Guests choose their proteins, toppings, and style. Service is typically 1.5–2 hours for most office events. Orders are placed at tacomancatering.com or via phone call. Minimum order: 25 people. 48–72 hours' notice preferred.

CaterCow Pro Tip: The live cooking experience is the main differentiator. Guests love the interactive element—they get to watch their tacos being made and customize toppings. This beats pre-made catering for engagement, though it does require on-site kitchen space or outdoor area for setup as well as patience during taco waiting times.

Taco Man Catering Menu & Proteins

Taco Man offers a tiered service model: Basic, Standard, and Premium. You might order 25 people on Standard and 25 on Basic, averaging ~$15–16/person and saving ~$100+ for a 50-person event. Not all packages allow this, but it's worth asking.

Hack #2: Arrive Early to Confirm Space

Taco Man needs about 20 sq ft of flat, level ground for their setup (truck or portable bar). If your office doesn't have obvious outdoor space, confirm with Taco Man that your location works before signing on. Some indoor break rooms can accommodate the setup; others are too small.

Hack #3: Order Shrimp for Smaller VIP Groups

Shrimp (only in Premium) costs more for Taco Man. For smaller groups (25–35 people), upgrading to Premium for shrimp option is reasonable. For larger groups (50+), it becomes cost-prohibitive unless you specify shrimp for most guests.

Hack #4: Request Advance Notice on Vegetarian Headcount

Call Taco Man 48h before your event and give them estimated vegetarian/vegan headcount. They'll adjust prep ratios and ensure adequate veggie protein is on hand. This avoids running out of the veggie option mid-event.

Hack #5: Combine with Light Appetizers for Afternoon Events

For 3–4 PM office events, Taco Man works great as the main catering. For morning all-hands or longer events, consider adding a pre-event light appetizer spread (fruit, pastries) so guests can snack while waiting for lunch service.

Common Mistakes to Avoid:

❌ Booking without confirming available outdoor/on-site space (Taco Man needs 20 sq ft minimum)

❌ Ordering with less than 48–72h notice (rush requests may be declined or incur fees)

❌ Ordering Basic Package for groups over 50 (3 tacos/person isn't enough for a full lunch)

❌ Forgetting to communicate dietary restrictions (vegetarian/vegan headcount, nut allergies, etc.)

❌ Assuming beverages are included (they're not—you must provide water, beverages, or arrange with venue)

Taco Man vs. Chipotle vs. Qdoba: Catering Comparison (2026)

All three offer Mexican catering. Taco Man is live-service and premium. Chipotle and Qdoba are fast-casual chains with delivery-only catering.

Taco Man ranks first for experience and novelty—the live taco bar is genuinely memorable and guest-engaging. Chipotle wins on price and accessibility (national availability). Qdoba is the middle ground.

Is Taco Man Catering Good for Office Lunches?

Yes, excellent—but with important caveats. Taco Man is ideal for office lunches, team celebrations, and company events in Southern California where you want to create an interactive, memorable catering experience. Guests love the live cooking and customization. The pricing ($16–28/person) is premium but justified by the novelty and engagement factor.

Taco Man is NOT ideal if: you're outside SoCal (minimal service to AZ/NV, not available elsewhere); you need a quick, no-setup solution (requires on-site space and 1.5–2 hour service window); your office has very small space (20 sq ft minimum); or you're on a tight budget (Basic Chipotle catering is $4–8/person cheaper). For those needs, Chipotle or Qdoba catering is more practical.

Taco Man Catering — Frequently Asked Questions

How much does Taco Man catering cost per person?

Taco Man costs $12–28 per person depending on package tier. Basic is $12–15/person; Standard is $16–20/person; Premium is $22–28/person. All packages include live taco bar service, chef labor, and 1.5–2 hours of cooking. Beverages are not included.

What's the minimum order for Taco Man catering?

Minimum is 25 people for all packages. If you need catering for fewer than 25, Taco Man is not an option.

How far in advance do I need to order Taco Man catering?

Taco Man requires 48–72 hours' notice for most events. Rush orders (24h) may be available depending on schedule; call to request. Premium Package and large events (75+ people) may need more advance notice.

Does Taco Man serve outside Southern California?

Taco Man primarily serves Southern California (LA area and San Fernando Valley). Limited service to Arizona and Nevada is available; additional distance fees may apply. Not available for most of the country.

What space do I need for Taco Man catering?

Taco Man needs approximately 20 sq ft of flat, level ground for their mobile taco setup. This can be outdoor space, parking lot, or large indoor break room. This is the sweet spot for most office lunches.

How does Taco Man compare to Chipotle or Qdoba catering?

Taco Man is significantly more expensive ($16–28/person vs. Chipotle at $10–14/person) but offers a unique live-cooking experience. Chipotle and Qdoba are fast-casual and delivery-only. Choose Taco Man for the novelty and guest engagement; choose Chipotle for budget and simplicity.

Is Taco Man catering worth it for a regular office lunch?

It depends on your budget and event type. For a routine Friday office lunch on a tight budget, Chipotle catering is more practical and cheaper. This keeps items at the ideal temperature when people start building ~15 minutes after arrival.

Hack #3: Pair Street Tacos with Another Item for Full Meals

Street taco boxes are light and work best as appetizers or paired with a burrito bar. A single taco box for 25 people would leave people hungry. Use as an appetizer or combine formats.

Hack #4: Add Horchata for Special Touch

A gallon of horchata or agua fresca for $14–18 feels premium and pairs perfectly with Mexican catering. Use Chipotle catering nationwide for consistency and brand recognition. Use Qdoba in the Midwest as a regional alternative to Chipotle.

Is Cafe Rio Catering Good for Office Lunches?

Cafe Rio is excellent for office lunches in the Western US (Utah, Nevada, Arizona, California, Colorado, and select expansion markets). The build-your-own burrito/bowl format accommodates dietary preferences naturally. Pricing is competitive (~$11–14/person). Fresh beverages add perceived value. For a 25-person team lunch in Denver, Phoenix, or Salt Lake City, Cafe Rio is a strong choice.

However, Cafe Rio has limitations. Burrito bars require on-site setup (15 minutes). If you don't have a warming area or kitchen access, request pre-assembled burritos (less fresh, but easier). Also, catering is handled at the restaurant level—no dedicated catering coordinator at most locations.

Use Cafe Rio for: Western US office lunches, mixed-diet teams (build-your-own works for everyone), budget-conscious events (~$11–14/person), casual atmospheres. Don't use them for: outside Western US, high-formality events, offices without on-site setup capability, or vegetarian-only offices (unless you're confident in their bean options).

Cafe Rio Catering — Frequently Asked Questions

How much does Cafe Rio catering cost per person?

$11–14/person for build-your-own burrito/bowl bars. Premium format with steak: $13–16/person.

Street tacos & enchilada trays are $5.50–8.75/person for mains only.

How do I order Cafe Rio catering?

Visit caferio.com/catering or call your local Cafe Rio restaurant directly. Minimum is typically 10 people with 16 hours advance notice. No dedicated catering coordinator—you'll work with the restaurant manager.

Does Cafe Rio deliver catering orders?

Most locations deliver in their local market. Some require pickup. Confirm availability when ordering. Delivery times are typically same-day or next-day depending on order timing.

Are there vegetarian options at Cafe Rio?

Yes—and this is a strength. Black bean option on the build-your-own bar, plus access to all vegetables, cheese, rice, and toppings. Vegetarians can build substantial meals. Better vegetarian inclusion than Chipotle or Qdoba.

What's the best Cafe Rio item for a large group?

The Burrito/Bowl Bar is the best choice—it's interactive, accommodates all dietary preferences, offers good per-person value, and feels fresh. Street tacos work as appetizers; enchiladas are secondary options.

What areas does Cafe Rio serve for catering?

Approximately 150 locations across Utah, Nevada, Arizona, California, and Colorado, with select expansion into other Western markets. The franchise has fulfilled at least 43,000 catering orders as more office managers are turning to Auntie Anne's for team snack events, afternoon breaks, and meeting-day treats than you might expect.

The honest framing is that Auntie Anne's is a snack catering option, not a meal replacement.

If you're feeding a team lunch, look elsewhere. If you're bringing in something crowd-pleasing, individually safe to eat, and genuinely exciting at a price well under $5 a person, Auntie Anne's is hard to beat. This guide covers the full menu, real pricing, how much to order, and a few hacks worth knowing.

Auntie Anne's Catering Menu (2026 Update)

All Auntie Anne's catering is ordered through auntieannes.com/catering or their mobile app. Most orders are available same-day or with 24 hours' notice for larger quantities. The catering lineup breaks into five categories.

Pretzel Packages — Best for Individual Office Distribution

Pretzel Packages are the individually wrapped, hand-off-friendly format that makes Auntie Anne's genuinely practical for office settings. Each pretzel is wrapped separately, which solves the hygiene concern that comes with shared trays. Available in four flavors and three count sizes.

Classic Pretzel Package (Original) — 12 count: $39.99 | 24 count: $79.99 | 48 count: $149.99

Pepperoni Pretzel Package — Same count options, same pricing

Sweet Almond Pretzel Package — Same count options, same pricing

Pretzel Dog Package — Nathan's Famous® all-beef hot dog wrapped in pretzel dough, individually wrapped. 12, 24, or 48 count

CaterCow Pro Tip: For office use, the 24-count package is the sweet spot. At $79.99, it's ~$3.33 per pretzel and the individually wrapped format makes distribution effortless. Mix two flavors (Original + Pepperoni) to cover sweet and savory preferences without over-ordering.

Pretzel Buckets — Best Value for Sharing

Pretzel Buckets are the share-from-the-table format — 90–100 pretzel nuggets or 50 mini pretzel dogs per bucket, serving 5–7 people. Less hygiene-friendly than packages, but better value per person for casual team environments where people are comfortable sharing.

Original Pretzel Nuggets Bucket — 90–100 nuggets, serves 5–7. $29.99

Cinnamon Sugar Pretzel Nuggets Bucket — 90–100 nuggets, serves 5–7. $29.99

Pepperoni Pretzel Nuggets Bucket — 90–100 nuggets, serves 5–7. $34.99

Mini Pretzel Dogs Bucket — 50 mini dogs, serves 5–7. $34.99

Crispy Cheesy Mini Pretzel Dogs Bucket — Baked with a cheese blend for extra crunch. 50 mini dogs, serves 5–7. $34.99

CaterCow Pro Tip: Two buckets with different flavors (e.g., Original + Cinnamon Sugar) cover 10–14 people at about $3–$4.50 per person. The Crispy Cheesy Mini Pretzel Dogs Bucket is the highest-rated item across social media and ezCater reviews — if you're only ordering one bucket, make it this one.

Party Trays — Best for Larger Groups

Party Trays are Auntie Anne's highest-capacity catering format — 10 servings per tray (180–200 pieces in a nugget-only tray; 100 pieces in a mini dog tray). Available as a Sampler (mixed flavors) or single-flavor.

Sampler Party Tray — Bite-sized Original, Cinnamon Sugar, Pepperoni, and Pretzel Dogs. Serves 10. $109.99

One Flavor Party Tray — Your choice of single flavor, serves 10. Pricing varies by location (~$79.99–$89.99)

CaterCow Pro Tip: The Sampler Party Tray at $109.99 for 10 servings is $11/person — a fair price for a catered office treat, but the Pretzel Buckets deliver better per-piece value if you're feeding fewer than 20 people. Trays make more sense at 25+ where you need volume.

Gallon Drinks & Dips

Gallon Drinks — Original Lemonade, Strawberry Lemonade, or other seasonal flavors. Serves ~8. Pricing varies by location (~$10–$14/gallon)

Individual Dips — Marinara, Sweet Glaze, Light Cream Cheese, Caramel. ~$2–$3 each

6-Dip Pack — Assorted dipping sauces. ~$10–$12

CaterCow Pro Tip: Always add dips — they're cheap and dramatically upgrade the experience. For a group of 20+, the 6-Dip Pack is more than enough. Cream cheese is the crowd-pleaser; caramel pairs well with the Cinnamon Sugar offerings.

Auntie Anne's Catering Prices (2026)

Auntie Anne's catering is priced as a snack, not a meal — which means you can treat an entire team for $3–$6 per person. Prices are set by franchise location and may vary slightly, but the ranges below reflect consistent national pricing based on current menus.

Auntie Anne's wins on variety, pickup convenience, and sheer familiarity — most employees have had one at a mall at some point and there's built-in excitement. Cinnabon is the more indulgent choice if you want something that feels like a genuine treat event. Wetzel's is the closest competitor but trails on national footprint and catering infrastructure.

Is Auntie Anne's Catering Good for Office Events?

Yes — with the right expectations. Auntie Anne's catering is excellent for afternoon treat breaks, office celebrations, team appreciation events, and anything where you want something warm, crowd-pleasing, and easy to eat without sitting down. It is not a lunch replacement and shouldn't be positioned as one.

Their offering is genuinely impressive for a snack concept and is one of the highest-rated in the space. The most common complaint in reviews is cold food on delivery — which is an argument for pickup. The most common compliment is "everyone loved it," which tracks: pretzels are one of the least polarizing foods in existence.

One real limitation worth flagging: the allergen profile is significant. Wheat, peanuts, tree nuts, milk, eggs, and soy are all present. For offices with multiple food allergy concerns, you'll want to communicate the ingredients before the order arrives.

Auntie Anne's Catering — Frequently Asked Questions

How much does Auntie Anne's catering cost per person?

For bucket-style ordering, expect $3–$5 per person for a generous snack serving. The Sampler Party Tray runs about $11/person. Individually wrapped pretzel packages run $3.33–$3.50 per pretzel. Delivery fees through ezCater add $5–$15 depending on location.

How far in advance do I need to order Auntie Anne's catering?

Smaller orders can often be placed same-day. For Party Trays or large pretzel package orders (48+ count), 24 hours' notice is recommended. Orders through ezCater may require up to 24–48 hours depending on location.

Does Auntie Anne's cater to offices specifically?

Yes — office events are one of their three stated catering use cases alongside parties and special events. The individually wrapped package format in particular is clearly designed with professional settings in mind.

What allergens are in Auntie Anne's catering products?

All Auntie Anne's products contain wheat (the pretzels themselves), and the full lineup contains milk, eggs, tree nuts, peanuts, and soybeans. Despite best practices to prevent cross-contact, allergen cross-contamination is possible. This is an important consideration for offices with multiple dietary restrictions.

What is the best Auntie Anne's catering order for an office of 20?

Two Pretzel Buckets (Original + Crispy Cheesy Mini Pretzel Dogs) plus a 6-Dip Pack runs about $80 and feeds 10–14 people generously. For a full group of 20, add a Sampler Party Tray for ~$180 total — around $9/person for an afternoon treat event that will be remembered.

Looking for Full-Meal Office Catering Options?

Auntie Anne's handles catering directly at auntieannes.com/catering. For office managers looking for a familiar, no-fuss option, it's a tempting call. But as a team that's seen thousands of office catering orders, we think the decision deserves a closer look before you commit.

This guide covers everything you need to know about Applebee's catering in 2026: the full menu, real per-person pricing, how much to order, ordering hacks, and an honest comparison against Chili's and TGI Fridays.

Applebee's Catering Menu (2026 Update)

Applebee's catering is tray-based, with each dish designed to serve 6–8 people. There's no minimum order, which sets it apart from most fast-casual catering programs. You order online at applebees.com/catering, through their app, by phone, or in-restaurant — with as little as 2 hours' notice for smaller orders.

Appetizer Platters — Most Popular for Offices

Appetizers are where Applebee's catering shines. The Classic Combo is the go-to for a reason — it covers multiple crowd preferences in one order and arrives in insulated packaging that holds heat well.

The Classic Combo — Boneless Wings, Spinach Artichoke Dip, Quesadillas, and Mozzarella Sticks. Serves 6–8. $59.99

Boneless Wings — 30–40 wings, choice of Honey BBQ, Buffalo, or Sweet Asian Chile sauce. Serves 6–8. $34.99

Spinach & Artichoke Dip — Served with white corn tortilla chips and chipotle lime salsa. Serves 6–8. $20.99

Mozzarella Sticks — 20–24 sticks with zesty marinara. Serves 6–8. $22.99

CaterCow Pro Tip: If you're feeding a group of 15–20, the Classic Combo plus one entrée tray is the most efficient order. Two apps and two entrees is Applebee's own recommendation for a party of 15, and it holds up in practice.

Entrée & Pasta Trays

Entrée trays are where Applebee's catering gets mixed. The pasta-heavy options — like the Three-Cheese Chicken Penne — have a reputation for arriving gummy when delivery is involved. Serves 6–8. $44.99

Fiesta Lime Chicken — Grilled chicken with lime glaze and Mexi-ranch, served with Spanish rice. Serves 6–8. $44.99

Oriental Chicken Salad Tray — Crispy chicken over Asian greens with rice noodles and Oriental vinaigrette. Serves 6–8. $37.99

Applebee's Riblets — Slow-cooked riblets with your choice of sauce, plus two family-sized sides. Serves 6–8. $54.99

CaterCow Pro Tip: Skip the riblets for office settings. They're messy, require extra napkins, and are consistently flagged by food reviewers as one of Applebee's weaker items. The Fiesta Lime Chicken is the safest entrée pick.

Sides, Beverages & Desserts

Family-Sized Sides (Garlic Mashed Potatoes, Garlicky Green Beans, or Steamed Broccoli) — $9.99 each

Gallon Beverages (Lemonade, Sweet Tea, or Unsweetened Tea, serves ~8) — $5.99

Dessert Brownie Bites (12–15 bites per platter) — $14.99

Applebee's Catering Prices (2026)

Applebee's markets catering as "about $10 per person" — that's technically true if you order strategically and pick up. In practice, a realistic office spread with a mix of appetizers and entrees runs closer to $12–$16 per person before delivery fees and tip. Prices are generally consistent nationwide, with minor variation by franchise location.

Applebee's insulated containers hold heat well — pick up 15–20 minutes before your event and you're fine.

Hack #2: Use the Classic Combo as Your Anchor

At $59.99 for 4 different apps serving 6–8, the Classic Combo is the best per-item value on the menu. One combo + one entrée tray covers a complete meal for 8–10 people at under $12/person.

Hack #3: Skip Pasta Trays If Delivery Is Involved

Pasta trays don't travel well — they arrive gummy. If you must order delivery, stick to wings, the salad tray, or Fiesta Lime Chicken, all of which hold up significantly better in transit.

Hack #4: Lean Into the 2-Hour Window

Most chains require 24–48 hours minimum. Applebee's 2-hour lead time is a genuine advantage for last-minute office needs that no other casual dining chain matches.

Hack #5: Join Club Applebee's for a Free Appetizer Tray

Club Applebee's membership is free and comes with a welcome free appetizer — that's a $20.99 Spinach Dip or Mozzarella Sticks tray at no charge when ordering a larger catering spread.

Common Mistakes to Avoid:

❌ Ordering riblets for a formal office setting — messy and quality is inconsistent

❌ Relying on third-party delivery for a time-sensitive event — timing is out of your control

❌ Ordering pasta trays for delivery — quality drops significantly in transit

❌ Expecting dietary labeling — trays are labeled by item name only, no allergen or dietary callouts on packaging

Applebee's vs. Chili's vs. TGI Fridays: Casual Dining Catering Comparison (2026)

If you're considering casual dining for office catering, these three chains are the most common options.

For most structured office catering situations, Chili's edges out Applebee's thanks to a more polished catering menu and better dietary variety. Applebee's wins on same-day speed — if you have two hours' notice and need food for under 20 people, it's hard to beat. For larger or more formal events, look beyond all three of these chains.

Is Applebee's Catering Good for Office Lunches?

The honest answer: it depends on your office culture. Applebee's is bar food — wings, mozzarella sticks, pasta — and it leans casual. For a team celebration, a department hangout, or a laid-back Friday lunch, it works well and the price is right. For a client meeting, an executive event, or anything where presentation and dietary labeling matter, it's going to feel like the wrong call.

The lack of dietary callouts on packaging is a real issue at scale. If anyone in your group has allergies or dietary restrictions, you'll be directing them to Applebee's website rather than a label. At CaterCow, every order comes with per-person labeling that includes ingredients and allergen flags — something casual chains don't offer at the tray level.

Applebee's Catering — Frequently Asked Questions

How much does Applebee's catering cost per person?

Applebee's advertises catering at "about $10 per person." A realistic office spread — one appetizer tray and one entrée tray for 10–12 people — runs closer to $11–$13 per person before delivery fees. Add delivery via DoorDash or Grubhub and factor in an extra 25–40%.

How far in advance do I need to order Applebee's catering?

As little as 2 hours for smaller orders — one of the shortest lead times in casual dining. For orders over 20 people or during peak lunch hours, call the restaurant directly to confirm availability.

Does Applebee's catering include plates and utensils?

Yes. All orders include plates, serving utensils, and cutlery. Containers are microwave-safe. For buffet setups, ask your location about sterno kits to keep food warm.

What is the best Applebee's catering order for an office lunch?

For 10–15 people: the Classic Combo plus a Fiesta Lime Chicken tray and one side is the sweet spot. It covers multiple taste preferences, holds heat well, and runs about $11–$12 per person. Skip pasta trays if delivery is involved.

Is Applebee's catering available for delivery?

Delivery availability varies by location and typically runs through DoorDash or Grubhub. For time-sensitive office events, pickup is more reliable and avoids third-party service fees and tip.

Does Applebee's cater to dietary restrictions?

Applebee's catering trays are labeled by item name only — no gluten-free, vegan, or allergen callouts on the packaging itself. Allergen and nutrition info is available on their website. For groups with multiple dietary needs, the lack of tray-level labeling makes serving more difficult to manage.

Looking for More Reliable Office Catering Options?

Applebee's handles its own catering directly at applebees.com/catering or by calling your local restaurant.

The Buffalo Wild Wings menu in 2026 is built around its core promise:
👉 wings, beer, and sports.

While prices have increased slightly, the brand offsets this with aggressive promotions, large portions, and a wide variety of flavors. Whether you’re ordering for an after-work game watch or a casual Friday happy hour, there’s still strong value and even stronger flavor.

Buffalo Wild Wings Catering Trays FAQ

How many people does a Buffalo Wild Wings catering tray serve?

A Buffalo Wild Wings catering tray generally serves about 1 person for every 10 wings. For example, a tray of 50 wings serves about 5 people, a tray of 100 serves about 10 people, and a tray of 150 serves about 15 people. Actual serving size may vary depending on whether wings are the main meal or part of a larger catering spread.

What comes with Buffalo Wild Wings catering trays?

Buffalo Wild Wings catering trays include your choice of sauces and dry rubs, plus dips. Families gather to celebrate a major milestone, bringing together teenagers, parents, grandparents, and friends in a fun, relaxed setting.

Most graduation parties happen during May and June, often outdoors in backyards, parks, or community spaces, and guest lists can quickly reach 30 to 100+ people. Because of the large groups and casual atmosphere, graduation party catering has become one of the easiest ways to host a memorable celebration without spending the entire day cooking.

In this guide, we’ll cover the best catering options for graduation parties, popular menu ideas, average catering costs, and practical planning tips to help you organize a great event.

Graduation Party Catering Is Popular

Graduation celebrations typically follow an open-house format, where guests arrive and leave throughout the afternoon or evening. This makes catering especially useful because food can be served buffet-style and guests can eat whenever they arrive.

Graduation party catering works well because it:

Feeds large groups easily

Includes food teenagers actually enjoy

Allows hosts to focus on celebrating instead of cooking

Works perfectly for backyard and outdoor events

Keeps the party casual and social

Can utilize any space, unlike a food truck which need dedicated space and typically a large budget. Check out CaterCow's Food Truck Cost Calculator for graduation parties.

Many families also combine graduation celebrations with summer kickoff parties, making food a central part of the event.

Best Graduation Party Catering Styles

Not every catering style works well for graduation parties. The best options focus on easy serving, customizable menus, and foods people can eat while socializing.

Below are the catering formats that work best:

Taco Bar Catering

Taco bars are one of the most popular graduation party catering options. They are customizable, affordable, and easy to scale for large guest lists.

Typical taco bar menu items include:

Seasoned chicken or beef

Tortillas or taco shells

Rice and beans

Cheese, salsa, and guacamole

Lettuce and toppings

Taco bars work well because guests can build their own plates, they easily accommodate vegetarian or gluten-free diets, and are perfect for outdoor buffet setups.

Taco bars are a fun addition to graduation parties

BBQ Catering

BBQ is a classic choice for backyard graduation parties. Once typically the domain of Dad, families who want to focus their attention on their daughter or son are increasingly outsourcing the entire BBQ catering operation.

Popular BBQ catering menus include:

Pulled pork or brisket

BBQ chicken

Mac and cheese

Coleslaw

Cornbread

Baked beans

BBQ works especially well when the party has a summer cookout atmosphere.

Sandwich and Slider Platters

Sandwich trays are ideal for open-house style graduation parties. Guests can quickly grab food without needing plates or utensils. Ordering sandwich catering from a restaurant is an easy way to differentiate from the tired grocery store catering you'll see at others' parties.

Popular sandwich options include:

Turkey and cheese sliders

Italian deli sandwiches

Chicken salad mini croissants

Veggie wraps

These platters are great for large groups and mixed age ranges. They also hold well outside over long periods making a great option for the low maintenance host.

Pizza Catering

Pizza remains one of the simplest and most affordable graduation party catering choices.
Graduation Party Catering FAQ

What food is best for a graduation party?

The best graduation party catering foods are casual, crowd-pleasing, and easy to eat while socializing. Popular choices include taco bars, BBQ, pizza, sliders, sandwich platters, pasta salad, fruit trays, and cookies or brownies. These menu options work well for both teenagers and parents and fit the relaxed, open-house style of most graduation parties.

How much does graduation party catering cost?

Graduation party catering usually costs between $10 and $25 per person for drop-off or buffet-style service. Total pricing depends on guest count, menu choices, delivery fees, and whether staff or setup equipment are included.

Not Moe's!

Unfortunately, despite that positive start, the setup had several issues.

Food Labels

With none of the containers marked by ingredients or dietary and oven available and were able to warm everything ourselves.

In a typical corporate office environment, that likely wouldn’t be possible — meaning the food would have been served lukewarm or the team would be waiting in line at the kitchen microwave.

Ice Cold Salsas Hurt the Taco Experience

Another problem was the temperature of the toppings.

The salsa and sauces arrived refrigerator cold.

Cold salsa isn’t inherently bad, but when it’s ice-cold and placed on hot tacos, it creates an unpleasant contrast.

Instead of tasting fresh, it made the tacos feel less appetizing overall.

Protein Portions Were Decidedly Small

The most serious issue was portion sizing.

Although the taco bar requires a 10-person minimum order, the amount of protein provided was not even enough for five people.

The trays of meat were shallow and ran out quickly.

For a taco bar — where protein is the main component — this created immediate problems.

Guests had to ration their tacos.

Beans Were Also Under-Portioned

The black beans tray was barely an inch deep.

<img struggled to feed even half the group.

Guacamole Looked Unappetizing

We added guacamole as a premium topping and typically guacamole is the first item that runs out of the mexican buffet.

Unfortunately, it arrived looking oxidized and unappealing, which discouraged people from using it.
<figure class="kg-card id="one-highlight-moe-s-sauce">One Highlight: Moe’s Sauce

One item that actually impressed us was Moe’s Sauce, which we ordered as an extra.

It had a smoky, tangy flavor and worked well with the tacos.

If the rest of the food matched the quality of the sauce, the experience would have been much better.

Overall Team Reaction

The overall reaction from the group was disappointing.

The biggest complaints were:

Not enough protein

Cold toppings

Heating setup problems

Unappealing guacamole

Most people described the meal as mediocre.

Several people even said they wouldn’t visit Moe’s in person after the catering experience, which shows how strongly catering quality influences brand perception.

Is Moe’s Catering Worth It?

Mexican food is usually one of the safest and easiest cuisines for office catering.

But in this case, Moe’s taco bar struggled in several critical areas:

Protein portions were insufficient

Heating equipment was
